The University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law has launched the Winograd Initiative for the Study of Contemporary Hate Speech & Antisemitism, a new program advancing research, academic engagement, and community collaboration
on these critical issues. As part of the initiative, the 1st Annual Winograd Symposium will be held on May 3, 2026, at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
JD students and graduate students whose work relates to law and Jewish life are invited to submit a 300–500 word abstract and a brief bio by
December 23, 2025. The Symposium provides a supportive, rigorous environment for emerging scholars to share ideas and receive feedback from distinguished faculty advisors.
